Software Updates and New Releases

The SMMS system has easy exit points to integrate smoothly with your existing purchasing, inventory and production planning software. Our consultants have wide experience in developing and implementing iSeries package system, and we can quickly and effectively integrate SMMS with your existing software, be it packaged or custom.

Implementation Project

A crucial element in implementing your SMMS system is having a solid project plan that meets your needs and objectives. If you choose not to “go it alone” on your implementation, we have the knowledge and expertise to get you from the starting line to a successful finish quickly.

Each implementation project plan is tailored to your needs and objectives. It's no secret that implementing any CMMS system can be a daunting task, especially if the people in your organization are accustomed to doing things manually. So we won't leave you "on your own" once the software is shipped.

Goal #1: Each implementation project is unique, because client companies have unique cultures, disparate objectives, and different maintenance issues. So the first goal for each implementation is to create a project plan tailored to your needs and objectives, identifying roles, measurements and milestones.

Goal #2: The SMMS software is flexible and you may implement the system in many different configurations depending on your needs. Therefore, the goal of the implementation plan is to identify the important issues and bring out a staged implementation strategy that quickly achieves results and reinforces effort.

Goal #3: We don't ever come into your maintenance shop with a "cookbook" for implementation. The software is flexible and a “cookbook” approach to implementation would squander that flexibility. Instead, we work with you to conduct a review of your environment and develop a project plan appropriate to your situation.

Results: After your decision to make SMMS your CMMS system, we'll be available to help you develop an implementation plan, set goals and objectives, stay on track, and achieve a rapid, successful implementation. With each implementation project plan, we'll also help define milestones, measurements, and critical success factors.

Data Conversion Programming

If you have legacy data from a previously installed CMMS or ERP system, or manual data from spreadsheets or other sources, we can provide conversion programming to move your legacy data into the SMMS database.

The goal of data conversion is to shortcut the data entry effort and get your data loaded in the shortest period of time. Generally, this work can take place concurrent to other activities in the project implementation and your data can be ready for testing in a very short period of time.

Customizations and Enhancements

It's likely that the existing functionality in the SMMS system will meet your needs completely; however, if customizations are necessary we'll help you define, document and program them.

Whenever a client customization seems to have broad applicability, we'll add it into the standard package, making your future upgrades easier. But even if a client enhancement does not belong in the standard SMMS product, we will also offer to maintain your customizations as part of your annual support package so you'll always have minimal effort to keep your software up-to-date.

Software Updates and New Releases

We plan SMMS to have one major new release each year. Major releases contain significant new functionality and capabilities, and are generally announced well in advance so that clients can plan for the upcoming changes.

Software updates consist of interim enhancements, minor program changes, and temporary "fixes" to bugs identified by clients. We make software updates available to clients on a monthly basis; they can be obtained by requesting an installation CD or through download from our web site.
